지난 10월 27일(일) 본당 CYO 학생들과 교사들은 매년 열리는 알링턴 교구 Rally 행사에 참가했습니다.
수십 년에 걸친 랠리 역사상 처음으로 학생들이 알링턴의 비숍 오코넬 고등학교 강당 발코니로 넘쳐날 정도로 참석자가 많았습니다.
청소년, 캠퍼스 및 청소년부 사무국의 케빈 볼리는 “이번 랠리는 확실히 역대 최대 규모”라고 말했습니다. “좋은 청소년 사역이 이루어지고 있는 교구가 더 많아지고 있으며 이러한 프로그램의 규모가 커지고 있음을 보여줍니다.”
신앙 안에서 즐거움으로 가득 찬 하루를 보낸 참가자들의 소감과 사진을 게재합니다.

"성당 친구들과 랠리에 함께 가서 너무 즐거웠어요. 랠리에서 학교 친구들도 만나 신기했고 다른 성당 친구들과 함께해서 ‘우리’가 더 넓어진 느낌이어서 좋았습니다. 다른 친구들은 하느님을 어떻게 만나는지, 또 하느님과 어떻게 친해지는지 얘기하면서 저도 저와 하느님의 관계에 대해 기도하게 되었습니다. 성당에서도 이렇게 친구들과 재미있게 놀면서 기도할 수 있어서 미사 보고 주일학교 다니는 일요일에 성당에서 지내는 시간이 힘들지 않고 즐겁습니다.
8학년 때까지 Bash 갈 때는 부모님 차 타고 이동했는데 9학년부터는 부모님이 성당까지만 데려다주고 친구들과 선생님 차 타고 이동해서 제가 어른이 된 거 같고 어린애처럼 행동하지 말아야겠다는 느낌이 들고 제 행동에 책임감이 생겼습니다. 내년에도 친구들과 선생님들과 다 함께 랠리에 또 참석하고 싶습니다."

"This past Sunday’s Rally at Bishop O’Connell High School was filled with good friends, fun games, food, and praises. I Met all the Catholic people in our area. Listening to stories about how they were connected to Jesus made me think about my relationship with Him. They shared about how close they felt to Jesus and the miracles they witnessed in their lives.
I also want to apply what they shared in my life to get closer to Jesus. I loved the mass because the praises we sang together were strong and resonating. Ending with a chance to meet the real Jesus during Eucharistic adoration was an amazing feeling I will never forget because I spoke to Him as he walked around us so closely. I look forward to next year’s Rally. "

"I had so much fun at the rally! My expectations and excitement for this event were low at the start, but I quickly found myself enjoying the day. Not only did I have an incredible time socializing and hanging around, but I also got the opportunity to become closer and more connected to God.
The talks that the speakers gave were inspiring. They not only talked about facts about saints and the bible, but they also spoke about their personal experiences. Listening to them open up, and feeling their devotion to God made me want to become more like them.
Another part I enjoyed was the Eucharistic Adoration. I experienced about 1,000 people kneeling together on the floor, looking up at the cross. Kneeling there, I felt God’s unconditional love for everyone there and the love that the people around me for God. Rally was an amazing experience for me, that I know I’ll be attending next year as well!"
