지난 5월 2일 첫영성체를 준비하는 학생들이 워싱턴의 National Shrine & Franciscan Monastery로 성지순례를 다녀왔습니다.

Being able to chaperone on the pilgrimage to the Basilica was such a great experience. Having a tour of the various small chapels within the Basilica and learning about the various historical portions of the small chapels within - like Vietnam and Africa. It was also great seeing the different Asian cultures being celebrated at the Basilica as well - and seeing our Korean heritage - which included a drum performance and ladies walking down the aisle in their 한복.
The Franciscan Monastery was beautiful to visit. Again, it was a history and religion wrapped into one lesson. Learning about the Purgatory chapel which was located downstairs of the main chapel was really cool as the students hadn't learned about Purgatory at the time.
