12월 19일에서 21일까지 Middleburg, VA의 Camp Highroad로 겨울 피정을 다녀온 CYO 학생들이 소감을 남겼습니다.

CYO retreat made me realize that our Catholic sisterhood and brotherhood is so strong. Everyone was so open and accepting of the Lord that it brought me to tears. I truly felt as if the Lord was with us and being able to experience such a warm, happy time with the ones I love most was truly eyeopening. My heart is as open as ever, and it is all thanks to the Lord and the CYO staff who made this invaluable experience possible.

Winter retreat has truly been the most healing and heartwarming experience for me. Seeing friends and staff open up and become tender created an environment where more people could comfortably share. Writing notes to our peers the entire retreat, being a guardian angel for a friend, sharing personal stories and experiences, and reflecting on myself by writing down thoughts brought me to the Lord, and made my faith stronger. Feelings of empathy and healing brought many people to share tears and emotions which I believe strengthened our CYO community. I feel so grateful to have had this experience to prepare ourselves for Christ before Christmas. God was with us every second of our weekend and I believe all students and staff felt His presence.

My time at CYO Winter Retreat was something I could never forget. The ability to get closer to God through different people and different ways is immaculate. We had many small group discussions in which we talked about many different topics. The small groups were assigned randomly, and I believe it’s a good way to bond with your fellow brothers and sisters in Christ. There were also praise sessions which were great for uniting everyone in glorifying God. My personal favorite was the reflection time in which I was able to be 1 on 1 with God. It was an absolute great event for taking steps in your faith not just by yourself but with others who will walk with you.

Retreat was such a refreshing and meaningful experience! I was able to get a lot closer to many of the girls in CYO, and most importantly, to God. Retreat gave us spiritual connection with God and humanly connection with each other at the same time, through activities such as the small group discussion and praises, and late night talks and short walks to the field and the lake. Thank you so much for the ssns who made this happen, and I hope we can do this next year again!
